Learning Objectives
- MAIN PRINCIPLES AND FOUNDATIONS OF DATA ANALYSIS. UNIVARIATE STATISTICAL MEASURES.The first form aims to introduce the basics of statistics. Fundamental issues of discipline will be presented as well as procedures of data-base construction. The form will provide the statistic tools in order to represent, by means of tables and graphics, a data set. Furthermore, the main statistics measures for the analysis of a variable will be presented.
- STATISTICAL TOOLS FOR BIVARIATE ANALYSIS. PROBABILITY CALCULUS FOR STATISTICAL INFERENCE.The second form is about the relationships between two variables. Dependence measures, correlation and regression model well be showed. In the second part of the form basics of probability well be presented in order to introduce inferential procedures.
- PARAMETER ESTIMATION AND PARAMETRICAL STATISTICAL TESTSThe third form well provide the logical and statistical tools for statistical inference, starting from basics as population, sample, sample distribution. At the end of the form, student well be able to calculate an confidence interval about an unknown population parameter and He well be able to test a statistical hypothesis.

- MAIN PRINCIPLES AND FOUNDATIONS OF DATA ANALYSIS. UNIVARIATE STATISTICAL MEASURES.
Basics of Statistics, Variable typology, Statistical distributions, Graphic representations, Centrality measures, Variability measures, Shape measures, Index.
- STATISTICAL TOOLS FOR BIVARIATE ANALYSIS. PROBABILITY CALCULUS FOR STATISTICAL INFERENCE.
The relationship between two variables, Dependence, Linear Regression, Linear Correlation Coefficient. Probability Theory, Random Variables, Some Probability Distributions.
- PARAMETER ESTIMATION AND PARAMETRICAL STATISTICAL TESTS
Population, Sample, Sample Distribution, Point Estimation, Interval Estimation, Statistical Hypothesis Testing, Comparison between Two Populations
