Expected Learning Outcomes

This course aims at providing students with an appropriate knowledge of the principles and rules of public international law as well as of any implementing mechanisms within domestic legal systems, having particular regard to Italian law.

Course Structure

Academic teaching with a progressive interaction with students, also based upon the analysis of the most relevant international practice and case-law.

Required Prerequisites

It is advisable to have a prior knowledge of the fundamental concepts of Italian constitutional law.

Attendance of Lessons

Class attendance is recommended since it allows to better and faster learn the contents of this subject and the correct methodological approach to it.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

Oral exam with evaluation based on the following criteria:

a. degree of pertinence and completeness of answers;

b. ability to correctly classify and solve legal problems;

c. ability to link with other topics in the Module program;

d. appropriate use of legal terminology.

Examples of frequently asked questions and / or exercises

Exam questions will cover at least one topic from the syllabus in each of the following areas: 1) subjects and sources; 2) contents of the main international rules and related implementing mechanisms.
