Expected Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students should have acquired the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

First and foremost, students must gain a comprehensive understanding of the European integration process from the 1950s to the present day, with particular emphasis on the amendments made to the founding Treaties of the European Union. Furthermore, students need to be familiar with the functioning of European Institutions and European legislative acts. They must understand and distinguish between domestic law (such as statutes), European law (such as directives and regulations), and international law (such as treaties and international conventions). Additionally, students must understand how European Institutions operate, including the differences and similarities with domestic (Italian) government bodies.

Students must also acquire the ability to conduct research within their chosen field of study, both from a doctrinal perspective and from a case law perspective.
