Expected Learning Outcomes

The main expected learning outcomes include:


Understanding Social Innovation:

- Students will be able to define social innovation and its key characteristics.

- Students will understand the factors and conditions that foster the development of social innovation.

Analysis of Social Innovation Contexts in Italy:

- Students will be able to identify and analyze areas of social relevance in Italy, where social innovation is most common.

- Students will be able to evaluate concrete examples of social innovation in various sectors in Italy.

Interaction between Social and Business Innovation:

- Students will be able to explain the relationship between social innovation and business, as well as profit and nonprofit.

- Students will understand how social innovation can be integrated and managed within organizations.

Managing Innovation in Organizations:

- Students will be able to identify and describe how innovation is managed within organizations.

- Students will be able to develop strategies to promote and implement social innovation in organizational settings.

Critical and Analytical Skills:

- Students will be able to analyze case studies related to social innovation projects critically.

- Students will be able to evaluate the impact of social innovation on communities and organizations.

Detailed Course Content

The course introduces students to the key features of social innovation (SI), to the conditions that favor its development and to social relevance areas where the phenomenon is more frequent in Italy. The course also deals with the relationship between SI and enterprise, with particular reference to the management methods of the SI within the profit and non-profit organizations
