    The fascist legacy and the born of republican Italy
  • History of Contemporary Italy. The Italian Republic, politics and economy
    1. Analysing political and economic transformations in the Italian history and their impact on the environment.
    2. Knowing principal environmental protection policies and environmental risk management strategies.
    3. Identifying and connecting causes and responsibilities about the “unsustainable development” of the peninsula (with a special focus on the issue of the spreading of mafias in the Northern Italy),
  • History of Italian Republic. Social Transformations
    1. Analysing transformations conditioning political, economic and environmental transformations in the history of Italian Republic;
    2. Knowing the players , the turns and the reasons of different political crisis during the history of Italian Republic;
    3. Analysing continuity and differences between the old parties of the first Republic and the neo - parties of the ”Second” one ;

Detailed Course Content

  • History of Contemporary Italy. Fascism, dictatorship

    The module is focused on the History of Italian Environment and on the analysis of controversial results producted by the protection policy of Italian governments, in particular during the fascist regime.

  • History of Contemporary Italy. The Italian Republic, politics and economy

    The module analyses the environmental history of the Italian republic and it focuses on the issue of the spreading of Mafias in the North of Italy.

  • History of Italian Republic. Social Transformations

    The module will focuse on the history of the main protagonists of Italy’s “first” and "second” Republic, highlighting virtuous and critical elements of those formations and responding to suggestions imposed by the reading of the current Italian political crisis
