Expected learning outcomes

The objective is to achieve communicative and cultural competences and skills that enable the student to take his or her first steps in the French and French-speaking digital and working world.

Attendance of Lessons

The lessons of the course will take place in presence during the 1st semester of the academic year 2024/2025.

In-course examinations.

The student can also take advantage of the lectures (Courses A1, A2, B1/B2).

Frequency of lectures

72 hours of lectures (70% compulsory).

Detailed Course Content

Course programme

The course is divided into 2 modules:

1st module --> Introduction to the fundamentals of the French language (phonetics/morphosyntax/basic grammar)

The module aims at the acquisition of the 4 language skills (oral and written comprehension and expression) by favouring the communicative and participative approach.

2nd module --> Le numérique au service de la sociologie by Muriel Travaillard.

In order to facilitate future employment, the student will be placed in a ‘real’ work situation and will have to carry out a digital editorial project on a sociological theme. He/she will thus be brought closer to the sectorial language, acquire autonomy for research, interpretation, contrastive analysis and the processing of authentic documents (texts, videos, films, etc.) and The topics will be chosen together with the class group according to the centres of interest of each one and the analysis will always be done in an intercultural key.

Learning Assessment Procedures

In itinere tests at the end of the 1st module: test to assess the learning of the fundamental elements of the French language (basic morphosyntax/lexic). If the test is failed, the student can retake it during the course and follow the lectureship hours.

 

Final test at the end of the course: the student presents and comments on his or her own editorial project (video, website, articles, etc.) developed in class.
