The EUMedEA Crash Course “Managing Crises at the EU (Med) Borders” is an advanced study and training event for PhD students interested in EU external action and the management of crises at the EU borders, migration in particular. MA students seeking to deepen their knowledge on these topics are also welcome. The crash course is run by leading scholars in the field, civil society organizations’ representatives and practitioners so to favour mutual exchange between students, academics and practitioners.
The objective of the EUMedEA Crash Course is threefold. First, it aims to provide participants with an intensive academic teaching and with practices of crisis management. For this purpose, invited international academics will give frontal lectures on key selected topics. Second, it aims to deliver training sections run by practitioners who will illustrate their cooperation experiences. The purpose is to focus on the practice of crisis management and to understand how NGO and CSO act on the ground. Last, but not least, it aims to support PhD students in debating and fine-tuning their research projects.
